The Electra mining Africa event is the largest mining, electrical and industrial trade show in Southern Africa, and is one of the top three mining shows in the world. It is a unique concept that brings together and strengthens ties between producers and consumers. The 2016 4-day event is being held at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa from September 12 – 16th.


The event provides the opportunity for attendees to see all the latest trends, services, products and technologies in industrial, construction, power generation, mining, materials handling, manufacturing, safety, machine tools, health and environmental, earth moving and civil engineering sectors.

Those attending as exhibitors have seen excellent returns on their investments in previous events, in turn enabling the very successful introduction of new products on to the market.

The event brings together Africa’s power, industrial and mining sectors and includes live demonstrations and interactive displays of new cutting-edge technologies and products from over 850 international and local exhibitors.

A showcase of logistics, transport and trucking is also included this year, as well as opportunities to see the latest developments in power generation and electronics.

Attendees can attend conferences, seminars and workshops, giving them the opportunity to interact with industry experts, and as a result gain an insight into industry trends and also get more details about a number of different learning opportunities.


One of the most highly anticipated presentations is from the Southern African Development Community, speakers will be discussing sustainability, growth and operational efficiency in volatile markets.

The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy is also attending and will be focusing on the concept of mining in the future, their presentations will include panel discussions, networking opportunities and case studies.
